Who are you, and where else we may find you around the web?

I'm Brewster, and mostly where I've been posting since 2011 (shamefully neglecting my Dreamwidth) is brewsternorth.

What have you read/watched/listened to?

I got into Hornblower fandom through the A&E series, but stayed for the Forester books, of which I've read all except for Midshipman. I'm probably due a rewatch of the A&E series, and definitely want to get in on the old-time audios.

What drew you into the fandom? What do you love in it? Why do you stay?

I tend to lurk a great deal in fandoms, especially large ones (my Ur-fandom was "Doctor Who", and I am also a Holmesian who got into the early series of "Sherlock"). Hornblower fandom is small and well formed, like a good sloop.

What kinds of activities would you enjoy doing?

Just about to post a fic! That plus meta/historical discussions is my jam.

Hello and welcome! colebaltblue and I are Holmesians too (we run holmestice, a twice-yearly anon pan-Holmesian gift exchange), and dabble in Doctor Who as well. (We're working our way through 8th Doctor audios right now -- our love for Bush is deeply entangled with our appreciation of Paul McGann.)

Hurrah, new fic! And oh, goodness, I see you started that series ten years ago, when the LJ fandom was more active -- I recognize some of those names! (colebaltblue has been digging our way through the archives of the LJ comms in the search of fic and other fanworks. Even with what's been lost to journal-deletions, there's still so much good stuff there!)

And please, if you want to lead any meta/historical discussions, feel free! sharpiefan did a lovely series a few months ago about the roles of marines on Royal Navy ships, if that's of interest. Or suggest topics to us, and we'll see what we can scrape up.
